Temasek Cares and the Yellow Ribbon Fund have set up the STAR Award to help ex-offenders rebuild their lives. The programme offers bursaries to financially-needy ex-offenders to help them with the cost of skills and vocational training. This training will help them to gain up-to-date and employable skills so that they can obtain employment and be self-sufficient, both of which are key milestones in their journey to successfully reintegrate into society.

The STAR Award helps ex-offenders to reach their fullest potential. Ex-offenders are often unable to upgrade themselves upon their release from prison due to time and cost constraints. In order to provide for themselves and their families, they often have to take on low-skills jobs with limited prospects. By providing bursaries to help with educational and living expenses, Temasek Cares is helping these ex-offenders to increase their employment potential so that they can build a better future for themselves and their families.
